Monetising your attention
What if you could be paid for browsing? I got paid!
For the last 15 years, all of you who is reading this post has helped Facebook, Google, Twitter and several others make money monetising your time and attention. Combined these companies have generated Trillions of dollars from your attention. This works so well that their main mantra now is to waste your time.
Last year I had discovered a new browser called Brave. Brave pays you for your attention. They should you ads in the browser and pay you in a cryptocurrency called Brave Attention Token (BAT). The thing is you can then use BAT and trade it with other cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin and Ethereum.
My attention was worth Rs. 1000 to the browser over the past 6 months. I was also able to move some of the BAT to Bitcoin and benefit from the surge that Bitcoin has witnessed in the past 4 months. For each Ad that the browser shows me, it pays me between 0.01 to 0.02 BAT. You can set the frequency at which the ads can be shown.
This is purely payment for my time. If I get a bank account in America, I can withdraw this money into a normal bank account and spend it as well!
I really wonder why more people would not switch to Brave and make money from their browsing?

Habits die hard. And the default browser is dumped on our systems by the OS.
